China Wall Buffet

Our usual Antioch buffet, a convenient choice closer to home, was unfortunately closed on a Tuesday, prompting our visit here instead. What we encountered was truly awful, a stark contrast to the pleasant memories we once held of this place. While the lunch buffet price of $14.99, plus an additional $2 for drinks bringing the total to $16.99, isn't inherently steep, the quality of the food rendered it barely edible. My partner and I found ourselves forcing down bites, primarily because the children were enjoying the jello and cakes. Even the spring rolls, typically a safe bet, were shockingly gross on the inside, leaving us to wonder just how old the cabbage must have been to acquire such an unpleasant flavor. I'm not looking to be overly critical, but honestly, this establishment is in such dire need of culinary intervention that someone should seriously consider calling Gordon Ramsay. We certainly won't be returning, which is a real shame given that we were once loyal regulars before our move. In hindsight, I deeply regret not spending the extra three dollars per person to try the new fusion buffet just down the street. Family outings are a rare treat for us these days, and the entire drive home felt like a bitter slap in the face, with the unpleasant taste of our meal lingering long after we left.

I truly enjoy my visits here. For a Chinese buffet, the food quality consistently stands out as quite good. The staff is remarkably efficient, and I always appreciate the availability of sushi starters and the generous amount of vegetables found throughout the dishes. My only minor observation is that the bench seating could benefit from some refreshing, showing signs of wear that are undoubtedly a testament to its widespread popularity.

My visit revealed a generally reliable buffet experience. I especially savored the soups, and the soft-serve dessert was a definite highlight. A crucial point for future diners is that drinks are not included in the buffet cost, so be mindful of that extra charge. I found the staff to be quite friendly, and the quick replenishment of food items was certainly appreciated. The reason for my four-star rating instead of five stems from the lack of upfront information regarding the separate beverage pricing, although I concede this might be standard practice for buffets, as I don't visit them frequently. Furthermore, I noticed some of the food was a bit cold, and a few dishes had a somewhat peculiar flavor profile.

This establishment has been a reliable favorite for many years, and it consistently exceeds expectations. I always find the food to be wonderfully fresh and served piping hot, with an impressive variety of dishes to choose from. It's quite affordable too; my boyfriend and I often enjoy numerous plates for around $40 total, making it a great value. The wait time is consistently excellent, which is always a plus.

I found the food here to be incredibly delicious! My first visit was with my boyfriend's family, and it was so good that we returned for my boyfriend's birthday celebration. The jello was particularly yummy, and both the orange chicken and potstickers were absolutely delightful. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back again.
